    It’s a good idea, and Netanyahu is not the path to a solution, but I don’t see it working. Given the odds of success, it’s almost all downside for Lieberman. And would he ever agree to something like what was proposed in Taba, which still wasn’t good enough? Territorial swaps are one thing, but de-annexing East Jerusalem back to the Palestinians? A land bridge between Gaza and the West Bank? No security buffer zone along the Jordan? Any attempt to recognize the right of return?

    Land swaps and a willingness to settle a border are small things. The big issues sound like non-starters to me.Report
